Hey!  I'm Jesús and I'm a photographer who, as I like to joke, loves working with people who won't sit still.  Among them, children and families.  Thanks for stopping by.

 

At heart, my passion is in storytelling.  And I love working with families and kids on private commissions because I find it gives me the chance to document the stories of your lives, lived together.  In fact, I find it to be among the most meaningful of the work that I do; work I know will bring joy, laughter, memories to my clients for generations to come.

 

I've seen the power of photography in your lives as well as mine: in the joy and gratitude of my clients when I deliver their work; in the follow-up emails I get saying you parents can't stop looking at your kids' photos; in the delight my mom still takes in displaying the life-size portraits of my sister and me at 2 years old; in the tears and laughter I've shared with my family going through old photos of our parents and grandparents.

 

To give a bit of bio, I grew up in Kansas City, and split my time between New York, Boston and, increasingly, KC.  As my mom gets older, I try to visit her more and more so I've been back in the Midwest a lot lately.  It can be pretty unpredictable, but it's great for me.  Keeps me spritely for chasing around your little ones.  :-)

 

I'm also always concurrently working on several high-concept, self-produced fine art projects (eg., at the moment, a photographic novel; a comedy/meme photography driven website) so my portrait commission work helps me in creating those.  In other words, when you hire me, you're not only buying your own amazing artwork, you're facilitating other are projects too.  How ever philanthropic of you!  (Kidding: I cannot get you a tax deduction for it; sorry!)
